Assembly Guidance Launches Next Generation LASERGUIDE with Initial Orders for 29 Projectors

Chelmsford, Mass.—Already filling launch orders for 29 new projectors, Assembly Guidance announces its Next Generation LASERGUIDE and MicroLASERGUIDE projectors for laser ply projection systems. The updated projectors improve both initial and operating cost-efficiencies, and produce sharper, more accurate, and more reliable laser lines, all with less flicker. The aerospace customers ordering the first 29 projectors, whose identities were not disclosed, will be using the new AutoFocus, Next Generation LASERGUIDEs in kitting, assembly, and layup applications.

Explaining how the Next Generation projectors have been improved, Assembly Guidance President Scott Blake points to technology. “We have incorporated the latest advancements in lasers, galvanometers, optics, temperature stabilization, and computing capabilities,” he says. “Each of these technologies has improved individually, and when we integrate them in our projectors, a systemic improvement of even greater proportion occurs.”

The lower cost of the individual technologies has allowed Assembly Guidance to lower the capital cost of LASERGUIDE compared to earlier projectors. Furthermore, operating costs are reduced because the new projectors are more time-efficient: they possess the lowest cycle times for all projector functions of any laser ply projection system.

The advanced technologies incorporated into the Next Generation LASERGUIDE and MicroLASERGUIDE projectors also improve the projectors’ functionality. Compared to previous projectors, these new models decrease flicker by 50 percent and improve line sharpness by 20 percent.

“The new projectors are fully compatible with all older LASERGUIDE systems,” Blake adds, “and they can utilize data files from any laser system.” The Next Generation LASERGUIDE projector also supports Assembly Guidance’s Aimed Vision for FOD detection as well as a next generation AutoAim feature, which runs at double the speed of earlier AutoAim MicroLASERGUIDEs.
