Alenia, Grottaglie, selects LASERGUIDE LT long throw laser projectors for 787 production

Alenia, Grottaglie, a Boeing partner, has purchased five LASERGUIDE long throw systems for 787 fuselage production. The projector supporting the systems is a new model of LASERGUIDE, called LASERGUIDE LT, and is able to project distances of more than 50' while maintaining Boeing required line thickness (.025-.075") and accuracy of ± 0.030" (0.75mm). The long throw capability of the LASERGUIDE LT projectors enables Alenia to cover large fuselage sections with a single-projector installation. As these LASERGUIDE systems come online, Alenia will be building the largest high-precision parts with a single laser projector

16 Projector LASERGUIDE Covers Entire Jet

Following an extensive evaluation process, Assembly Guidance has been awarded a contract to provide a 16 projector MicroLASERGUIDE system to project feature references throughout the entire interior of a business jet. The selection of the MicroLASERGUIDE system followed unsuccessful attempts to meet the projection requirements using systems from another laser vendor. "This customer found that the flexible setup, ease of use, quick response, full function operator interface away from the computer, along with application development and immediate support made MicroLASERGUIDE the optiomal solution for this challenging application, warranting a change in laser supplier" said Scott Blake, Assembly Guidance President.

October 2010 - Assembly Guidance has announced that all LASERGUIDE projectors purchased from Q4 2010 on will have a two-year warranties at no additional charge. The warranty covers both standard and MicroLASERGUIDE Next Generation projectors.
"Our confidence in the robustness of the Next Generation projectors has resulted in our decision to eliminate the charges for the optional extended warranty" - says Scott Blake, President of the Assembly Guidance. The optics technology that Assembly Guidance has been continuously improving since introducing the green lasers on industrial projectors in 1995 has matured to the point where laser life of Assembly Guidance lasers generally exceeds the service life for other projector components. Unlike some other laser projector systems, LASERGUIDE does not require frequent removal from service, disassembly and laser replacement. The standard two-year warranty is another example of Assembly Guidance's commitment to reducing costs in laser projection applications.

Assembly Guidance has integrated an Advanced Focus capability as a standard feature in all new LASERGUIDE projectors.
The focus for all new LASERGUIDE projectors is adjustable from the control station. This eliminates the need to climb a ladder and manually adjust projector focus. As a standard function, Advanced Focus is provided without any additional charge on new LASERGUIDE projectors. AutoFocus is still available as an option, yielding sharp lines on a ply-by-ply basis at varied projection distances. The Advanced Focus and AutoFocus functions allow a single projector to be used in applications where projection distances vary.
