Assembly Guidance

Targets Benefits:
Establish the tool XYZ position relative to each laser projector
Removable (for autoclave or other processes)
6 targets per projector; targets may be shared among projectors

Targets
LASERGUIDE uses six retro-reflective targets to establish the tool XYZ position relative to each projector.
Assembly Guidance calls this process "registration." Six targets offer the optimum balance of registration accuracy and registration time. The operator initially steers the laser beam near each target position, then clicks the "register" button. The system goes to each steered-to position and finds the exact location of the targets. Typical tolerance on the location of targets is 0.001" (0.025mm.)

Specification:

  • Target accuracy: 0.0005"
  • Target angle: flat, 45 or 90 degrees
  • Target spot size: 0.125" or 0.25"
  • Target offset: 0.3125" or 0.5"
  • Shank diameter: 0.25"
